Sundown soliloquy: Awaiting the evening

A wild farewell to the day,
and on the waiting beach,
the evening comes ashore

I have been to the sea at many different times. All seasons, all times of the day, under many different weather conditions.
Yet every time I am surprised by the light, that light that is never the same and always provides fascinating and enchanting colors.
This also applies to this stormy, cold afternoon in January. The sun is almost down and shines through the clouds for a few moments.
The waves break briskly on the beach and on the breakwater. The air is full of salty mist. I barely manage to stand upright to make a few photos…
That light…

‘Awaiting the evening’ is a new photo in the series ‘Sundown soliloquy’, part of the gallery ‘Eternal sea‘.
I made this photo on a winter afternoon in January on the beach along the North Sea, north of the town of Agger in Denmark.
