Who’s afraid of… Shivering Silver

Eager young trees
drinking the cold water
shivering silver

Wandering through a dense pine forests on a small peninsula in Sweden, the journey always ends at a waterfront: the Baltic Sea. The banks are densely overgrown with reeds, pine trees and birches.
The birch is one of my favorite trees: slender stature, silver-white bark, delicate twigs and leaves…
Most of them stand together in a group; young birch trunks, surrounded by swaying reeds. It’s like seeing them shivering as they drink from the cold waters of the sea.

‘Shivering Silver II’ is a photo in a triptych in the series ‘Who’s afraid of…’, part of the gallery Untouched land.
The photos in this series have been made in March 2019 in south and south east Sweden.
