Gray clouds blown aside
The horizon glows, a fleeting
moment’s fragile promise
An intense gray rainy summer’s day, a day like it can actually occur here all year round. But then, a few hours before sunset, a bright stripe appears on the horizon. The wind blows from the sea, so this is a fragile promise for a sunny end to this day, knowing that a narrow opening in the cloud cover can be blown away by the wind in just a few seconds…
From our backyard looking to the west, we can see the North Sea behind the fields. The prevailing wind direction here is west, so we often see the weather for the next half hour approaching from afar. Sometimes a promise, sometimes a warning. But always time to prepare 😉
‘Fragile Promise’ is a new photo in the series ‘Beyond the horizon’, part of the gallery ‘Untouched land‘.
