The swampy pastures of this part of National Park Thy are wedged between the dunes of the North Sea and Krik Vig, a bay in the Limfjord. The area has a special tranquility. It is never silent: the singing of many species of birds is accompanied by the singing of the wind and the humming of the surf. In the dry periods of the year, the marshes have retreated into a limited part of the nature reserve. The dry areas have become deep green, or show a beautiful palette of muted autumn or winter colors. When I wander through these areas and walk along the edges of the remaining swamps, there a benevolent rest comes into me and I feel a part of this untouched, vulnerable nature reserve.
A series of photos made in the nature reserve Agger Tange in the times of the year when the grasslands are mostly dry.
Agger Tange is a swamp area just south of the coastal town of Agger on the North Sea coast of northwest Jutland, Denmark, and is part of Nationalpark Thy, the oldest nature reserve in Denmark.
This is the first of two series made in Agger Tange. The title of the second series is ‘Float above deserted marshes‘.
I started adding links to my portfolio on Saatchi Art, and contact forms with which you can ask for a quote.
Even if the links have not yet been added, the photo is of course available as a print. In that case, please fill in the general contact form for more info or a quote.

color my dreams with
the fragile scent of
summer almost gone
The wind is cold and swollen
by the breath of the sea,
passing clouds of thoughts
feed the loneliness of the mind
Bleak winds wander hastily
through the marshes, finding rest
at the edge of the cold waters
Wind and sun
play a winter song
on the marshes’ grassy shore
A winter Sunday
to welcome the newborn sun
Feeling the breath of
in the twilight of stillness
The evening is covered
by the cold veils
of the night
Lost in the wind
that flows over
the dunes of solitude
A warm wind travels through the marshes
high grasses undulate impatiently
my mind wanders to the horizon
The winds are light and thin,
the air carries the breath of the sea.
The morning sun unveils
the infinity of the mind.
Obediently the grass bends
With the sweep of fiercy winds.
Underneath the restless clouds
We wander through deserted land.
The winds are light and thin, the air
still carries the cold of the night.
The morning sun reveals
the solitude of the mind.
The evening light
quenches the parched bushes
with copper luster
The cold wind plays gently on the strings of the sleeping nature
See the caress of the winter winds,
Through the reed along the waterfront.
Whispering reassuring words,
While they shiver in the cold.
The restless winds rustle through the golden marram grass,
The beginning of winter rids the last colors of autumn
In silence we walk along a dissolving path of emptiness
Into the comforting colors of waving grass and rippling water,
Where we hear the solitude sing a welcoming song
Emptiness reigns over the fields
where wind and rain embrace
greeting each other at the beginning of fall
The autumn sun is jumping over the crests of the dunes,
playing with the echo of the wind…
