Creative Coaching Of Artists

What do I mean by Creative Coaching Of Artists?

Not that I coach you specifically in the creative field, although I will surely give my opinion on that and give comments on technique etc.
I mean that the way we work together in this is creative and completely tailored to what you need !

You ask, I give. Or I give without you asking.

What do I give you? My thoughts, tips and tricks about what you do, where and how you present yourself, where and how you present your work, how you use LinkedIn and other social media...

Everything you want to know more about, as long as it relates to the art you make.

How? By messenger and / or mail.
You always receive an answer, sometimes immediately, sometimes after a few days. If you want to come to Denmark for a workshop or trtaining, you are always welcome. If so, we then discuss a fee for that.

How long? That's up to you. So if you stop asking questions and tell me to not longer give you advice without you asking, it stops.

Conditions...

Cost per hour or per question? No. A modest monthly fee.

An agreement? No, based on trust, and on what we 'talk' and agree about in our mails or messages.

My Creative Coaching For Artists is just as intensive as you want and need, and can vary along the way: half an hour a day, 5 times 5 minutes a day, or 15 minutes once a week, or....
So you can easily do it alongside all the other things that you already do, or that you have planned...

I never want to offend you, but my comments and questions can be confronting. It is always material to think about, if you are able to step over your primary response and feelings, and investigate what it means or could mean to you. It will help you to make the choices that have to be made to show to the world the artist that is inside you.

Interested? Send me an e-mail or use the contact page to send me a message and ask whatever you want to know about it !

Niloofar Mahafel representation

Niloofar Mahafel representation – Niloofar Mahafel was born in 1998 in Iran. Painting interested her since she was a young child. So she painted a lot and worked on all the techniques, including crayons, gouache, oil paints, pastels, watercolours and mixed media. Already at the age of 9 she held a solo exhibition. Niloofar followed many classes to improve her technique and creativity, and never stopped experimenting with materials. She participated in a group exhibition at Milad Tower in Tehran on the age of 22, with one of her paintings.

Niloofar always worked hard on her painting skills and the past years as a student audiology at the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Iran. In the summer  of 2022, she completed her B.Sc. studies. About in that same period, she searched for representation by someone outside Iran.
She describes herself as a strong woman, like many women around her who are an example and inspiration to her.

“In my paintings, I am almost myself . Life hasn’t been easy on me. I suffered many defeats but I was never disappointed for long. I got up again, and I started again. And I try to show this in my paintings.
Motivation, hope and happiness.”

So most of her paintings are inspired by this theme, being a girl and growing to a strong woman. Her aim is to show the different states of a woman through her paintings.

Representation

I am representing Niloofar outside Iran since 2021, so contact me for questions about her work.
All the shown paintings are also for sale and available as limited edition of 10 and as open edition print in any size you desire.

Suixtinction

Suixtinction [su~ix~tinc~tion] (also known as self-extinction) is the extinction of a species. Extinction because the species itself consciously destroys the essential conditions for its life. This occurs through the depletion of resources, the creation of a chaotic environment based on technical creations, and through unbridled consumption causing severe pollution of soil, air and water. This all resulting in the complete loss of its own food-, clean water and oxygen supply.

Sometimes I want to scratch and bite people (figuratively speaking, of course ;), to wake them up a bit about the predicament in which the earth and nature find themselves. And thus a predicament in which many millions of people already find themselves today. Drought, hunger, lack of drinking water, almost unbearable heat, huge amounts of rain, rising sea level, and so on and so on...

It is not a fiction, not a black future scenario... It is now ! And let's face it, the Western world just continuing to consume and have the consequences fall on poor, vulnerable countries...

Isn't that the newest form of colonialism?

Thinking about this, the word suixtinction formed in my mind and an image emerged....

Artwork: Suixtinction - self extinction. A digital artwork created by the fusion of three layers, one of them is the painting Sunlight by the Swedish painter Ingela Wallgren Lindgren (LinkedIn profile). For her original artwork and a link to her website, take a look here.

The other two layers are artworks by myself, and all three layers are transformed to contribute to the final artwork.

Blooming Winter Dreams

Blooming winter dreams, the colors of a new cold winter day. I stroll along the path between sleeping and waking, I don't want to let go of my dream yet. A cold breeze through my hair, the sunlight touches my face, trees with fragrant winter flowers…

The colors of a
cold morning
The first light opens
the flowers in my
winter dream

Earth Cries

'Earth Cries' is an artwork and poem that I made for Earth Overshoot Day 2023.

High waves of toxic
water drown the land
Dead eyes,
the earth cries
The sun colors the morning
in the hues of dead trees
on the banks of greed
How high may become
the price the future
will have to pay?

As of today, humanity lives by stealing from future generations. And let us have no illusions: the middle- and highly prosperous countries have been living for weeks to months by stealing from poor countries. This year, last year... All years since the first overshoot day in the 70's of lest century.

We live on credit, and there is no way to pay it back: the earth is unable to regenerate what we consume the rest of the year. And just so you realize: this has been true for decades. So the debt of you and me is huge, beyond all comprehension.

Conscience

But we silence our conscience by pretending that we start with a fresh earth every year on January 1.

I will help you out of the dream, or rather, make you realize that we are in a nightmare: the earth has not been clean and fresh for many years, and on many "issues" the damage is beyond recovery.

Disasters follow each other faster and faster. Is payback time knocking on our door?

Think about this, when you place your next order on the Internet for non-essential goods, when you throw away something that can actually be used for years to come, when you replace something because it is no longer fashionable, when you eat more than is good for you, when you use and eat things that burden and pollute the earth in an unaccountable way....

Tell me, who will pay your debt to the earth?

All You Need Is Less

Through my artworks I ask you to reflect for a moment on the nature around you, on the beautiful feeling that nature can evoke, on what we lose when we continue on the destructive path of ever more…

Getting lost in the pale light

Marshes have a special appeal. Is it the calm water? The assumption that "the whole world" used to look like this, long ago? Or is it the many mysterious places among the reeds, where something may have been hiding?

In any case, what particularly attracts me is the pale light that often prevails through the mists, through the many light-colored grasses and reeds and through the large reflective surfaces.

Everything in a swamp seems thinner, fragile almost, untouchable….
At the same time, it is not difficult to feel part of the landscape. The silence absorbs you, the mists make you feel like you are floating above the water.

Below are three new works in my collections 'Flat Lands' and 'Digital Art'.
I made all three artworks by transforming photos that I made in the small and scenic nature reserve Overasseltse En Hatertse Vennen near the city of Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Spring Morning At The Pond

I sit on a stone,
on the west side of the pond

Staring at the water,
     waiting.
Nobody understands why

All I want is to see how
the rising sun colors the flowers
     in the ripples
of a gentle spring breeze.

'Spring Morning At The Pond' is a new artwork in my collection 'Secret Places'.

Healing Forest

We lie on our backs on a patch of grass among tall trees and look up. All sorts of things are flying through the air. Thick bumblebees and dragonflies, swooping swallows, dandelion fluff, an airplane on its way to a distant destination, gossamer silver threads of a spider, patches of clouds, butterflies chasing each other, a buzzard. Most you only see, some you also hear.

The swaying treetops create an ever-changing light on the ground. The shadow play is almost hallucinatory. Everywhere rustles and everything seems to be moving. With a little imagination, a gnome suddenly shuffles out from behind a tree stump, or a nimble forest elf dances on a branch.

We have been lying here for half an hour now, and the beneficial effect such an environment has on body and mind is already becoming noticeable.

Shinrin-Yoku

Japanese have known this for a long time, and have a name for it: Shinrin-Yoku. The word shinrin means forest, and the word yoku stands for absorbing the atmosphere through your senses. We call it in proper Dutch "bosbaden" forest bathing. For years it has been the ultimate 'secret' in Japan to - now scientifically proven - living a healthier, calmer and happier life.
Through Shinrin-Yoku you reconnect with nature in many ways. Consciously spending time in nature can lower your blood pressure, relieve stress and strengthen your immune system. Also, "forest bathing" can boost your energy, creativity and concentration.

Have you ever taken a forest bath?
